Car explodes in Karachi’s DHA, no casualties reported

Eight to ten kilograms of explosives were rigged with gas cylinders, says police official.

KARACHI : A vehicle stopped in a vacant plot in the Defense Housing Authority's (DHA) Khayaban-e-Mujahid territory detonated early Monday morning, said police.

As per DIG South Javed Odho, "the impact was caused by a natively constructed vehicle-borne ad libbed hazardous gadget".

No setbacks were accounted for in the impact which occurred close to the Khadda Market zone.

The senior police official included that the vehicle was before stolen from Jamshed Quarters on Sunday.

"No less than eight to 10 kilograms of explosives joined with seven gas chambers caused the blast, alongside a six meter long exploding rope."

Burrow Odho further expressed that the imaginable intention of the impact was to spread dread among nationals.

Bomb Disposal Squad gathered proof from the site of the episode and more data with respect to the occurrence will be discharged after examination, said authorities.
